Studio City, the eponymous town built around silent-film era Keystone Studios — now CBS Studio Center — occupies the southeastern edge of the SF Valley with a terrain that is half classic grid, half meandering hills, bisected by legendary Ventura Blvd. With one of the most active television studios in LA, and a short drive to NBC, CBS, Universal, Warner Bros., and Disney Studios, the Studio City neighborhood draws plenty of residents who work in the entertainment industry.

Half of this neighborhood’s residents are renters. Properties range from mid-century modern ranches, to modern condos, to mid-rise apartment blocks, to hill-top estates. Homes in the hills south of Ventura are some of the most expensive in LA County and are home to celebrities, executives, and entertainers alike. Life here is primarily quiet and residential — a mellow enclave for those who value privacy, but don’t feel the need to escape the city. Ventura Blvd — originally part of the El Camino Real, one of the oldest routes in the Valley — is the bustling focal point and includes so-called “Sushi Row.”

Green therapy is also quickly within reach, with numerous popular trails and parks such as North Valleyheart Riverwalk, Coldwater Canyon Park, and Fryman Canyon Trail.
